From lofty Mountains to bubbling Mineral Springs
The most versatile cycle path of Austria starts in mountainous and sun-drenched Lungau area, where Mur River, a small but wild brook, and the cycle route are somewhat steep. What concerns contrasts it leaves nothing left to be desired to the route’s end, the historic town of Bad Radkersburg at the border to Slovenia. If you like natural variety, you’ll love the Mur Cycle Path!

TARGET: Bad Radkersburg
LENGTH: 365 km
DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 1,000m departing from Muhr (1,700m departing from Stickler Hut).
LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: Easy to moderate; long distance cycle touring
TRAIL: The path mainly travels along good, asphalt bike paths or lightly-trafficked side streets.
WAYMARKING: The path is well-marked with green-blazed signs and 'R2' signs in both directions.
TRAVEL & RETURN TRANSFER SERVICES: By rail to Salzburg; optional transfer services to Muhr available. Traveling by Car: Free „Park & Ride“ parking at the Muhr Power Station. Return transfer services from Bad Radkersburg to St. Michael/Lungau and Muhr: May through October, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.
OTHER LODGING OPTIONS: Farmstays, Private Homes, Cycle Villages, Youth Hostels and Family Inns
