The cycling trail passes along Bad Goisern and Hallstättersee Lake – where a quick trip to Gosau Valley is recommended. From Hallstatt and the worthwhile Dachstein Caves you continue your journey by train to the lovely Ausseer Land area and to Grundlsee Lake. Bad Aussee is the trailhead of the Styrian Salzkammergut cycling path, via Bad Mitterndorf you can also reach the Enns Cycle Path. In Altaussee you follow the forest trail to Bad Ischl, leading along the Traun River to Traunsee Lake and Gmunden. Pedaling along Attersee Lake and Aurach you get to Mondsee Lake, Irrsee Lake and to the pilgrimage church of Irrsdorf. Salzkammergut's lakes nestle against an imposing Alpine backdrop of white peaks and hidden caves. Attractions well worth visiting include the show village of Schleedorf and the Collegiate Church of Mattsee.
