Cycling and mountain biking are the favorite sports in the Salzburg Sports World—if there isn’t any snow! In the summer, the Salzburg Sports World ensures you will enjoy a cycle experience that will earn a place in your heart.
DETAILS
LENGTH: 1,000km, 600km of which are recommended for mountain bikers
DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: Tour-dependant – from 150m (along Enns Cycle Path to Flachauwinkl) to 1,480m (Frauenalm - Grießenkar Mountain Bike Tour).
TRAIL: Asphalt or gravel trails along the river; mountain bike routes mainly on gravel and forest roads.
WAYMARKING: Well-marked mountain bike trails with new, blue signs. Green-blazed valley trails.
FAMILY SUITABILITY: The Enns Cycle Path, Taurachtal Trail and Tauern Cycle Path as well as the Valley Trail linking Kleinarl to Jägersee Lake are especially suitable to families.

There are dozens of mountain bike trails throughout the Salzburg Sports World area, comprising the eight resorts of Flachau, Wagrain, St. Johann/Alpendorf, Radstadt, Altenmarkt/Zauchensee, Kleinarl, Eben and Filzmoos. Some have a technical edge while others offer forested views and mountain scenery that are stunning. Looking for trails in the Salzburg Sports World? The Cycle Maps and the new Mountain Bike Guide are comprehensive one-stop sources devoted to cycling and mountain biking in Salzburg Sports World with accurate descriptions, elevation profiles and sketch maps of 22 well researched routes. Many trails were designed and built during the last few years; all trails have new and well-marked signposting. A true challenge for avid cyclists is the annual Amadé Cycle Marathon. However, it’s worth your time to check out the stunning mountain scenery around Dachstein Peak and Tauern Range.
