Wirtshaus Meißl

Cycling holiday in the heart of Apple and Wine Country

The Wirtshaus Meißl, situated in the apple-growing village of Puch bei Weiz, is a proper, traditional inn going back over 130 years. Located directly on the Styrian “Apfelstraße” (Apple Road) and in close proximity to the East Styrian “Römerweinstraße” (Roman Wine Road), culinary enjoyment is par for the course.

The apple reigns supreme at the Wirtshaus Meißl! This family-run inn is located right in the centre of Puch, which lies directly on the Styrian Wine Country Cycle Trail ‒ a great base for cyclists wishing to explore the Garden of Austria, as East Styria is affectionately known. After their cycling tour, guests can look forward to sampling a number of local specialities and the finest regional products the Styrian Apple Road has to offer.

“Sweet dreams” are guaranteed in our 12 lovingly furnished “apple rooms”, with furnishings made from apple wood. Take a dip in the outdoor pool with views of the surrounding orchards for a taste of pure relaxation. The Styrian Apple Road is a connoisseurs’ paradise, and apple and juice tastings are free of charge to holders of the Genusscard! The Genusscard also provides holders with admission to over 120 excursion destinations in East Styria.
