Hotel & Gasthof Lercher

Tradition inn culture in Murau

The year 1704 is inscribed on the archway of this building in Murau’s old town, and in 1769 the hotels was granted the license to sell alcohol by Empress Maria Theresa. It has been in the Lercher family since 1910 and is now run by the fourth generation. The business has blossomed from simple inn to cosy 4- and 3-star hotel.. Cuisine at the Lercher’s Wirtshaus combines skilled Styrian cooking with Austrian variety and a few international touches as well. The hotel guesthouse is situated right next to the River Mur Cycle Trail.

The ambience and style reflect the centuries this building, which was once part of the town walls of Murau, has lived through. A major highlight is the selection of Austrian and international wines, and the beer that has been brewed in Murau for 525 years. Guests are welcome in both summer and winter, as the Murau holiday region offers a wide range of unique options and experiences for cyclists, golfers, culture vultures and wintersport fans, at local ski areas such as the Kreischberg.

Special: At the Hotel & Gasthof Lercher we can also host family and corporate events, business lunches, surprise menus for gourmets, wine tastings in our old wine cellar and more.
