Hotel & Gasthof Lercher

Tradition inn culture in Murau

The year 1704 is inscribed on the archway of this building in Murau’s old town, and in 1769 the hotels was granted the license to sell alcohol by Empress Maria Theresa. It has been in the Lercher family since 1910 and is now run by the 3rd generation. The business has blossomed from simple inn to cosy 4- and 3-star hotel with traditional local cuisine served at Lercher’s Wirtshaus. It is right next to the River Mur Cycle Trail.

The ambience and style reflect the centuries this building, which was once part of the town walls of Murau, has lived through. A major highlight is the extensive selection of Styrian and other Austrian wines (Wine Hotel of the Year 2012). However, beer has also been brewed in Murau for 500 years. Guests are welcome in both summer and winter, as the Murau-Kreischberg holiday region offers a wide range of unique options and experiences for cyclists, golfers, culture vultures and wintersport fans.

Special: At the Hotel & Gasthof Lercher we can also host family and corporate events, business lunches, gourmet evenings, wine tastings in our old wine cellar and more.
